At ZoLi Pets, we believe bath time should do more than clean. It should support your dog's overall wellness. That's why our SUDS shampoo bars are infused with Chinese herbs like Skullcap, Dong Quai, and Goldthread to gently support your dog’s skin and coat. These ingredients come from Traditional Chinese Medicine and are known for promoting balance, hydration, and overall skin health. No harsh ingredients, no plastic, just plant-powered clean that helps your pup feel their best.
When we first started thinking about what a better dog shampoo could look like, we kept coming back to one question: what if clean wasn't the goal, but the starting point? We didn't want a product that simply made our dogs smell nice for a day. We wanted something that supported their well-being in a more thoughtful, lasting way. That's when we turned to Traditional Chinese Medicine, something many of us already lean on for our own health and balance. From here, the idea for SUDS began to take shape.
Traditional Chinese Medicine, or TCM, has been practiced for thousands of years. it focuses on keeping the body in balance by using natural tools such as herbs, food therapy, acupuncture, and massage. Rather than just treating symptoms, TCM is about creating the conditions for health to thrive.
In recent years, many veterinarians trained in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine have applied these same ideas to animals. Many of the same herbs used in TCM for humans can also support dog's health gently and naturally, making them well-suited for everyday pet care.
At ZoLi Pets, we are drawn to this proactive approach. Instead of waiting until something goes wrong, why not choose ingredients that help keep your dog's skin and coat healthy in the first place?
When we created our shampoo bars, we wanted to use ingredients that were safe, gentle, and effective. We also wanted something that aligned with our belief in caring for pets with the same intention we bring to our own wellness routines. That is why we chose three herbs with a long history in TCM:
These herbs work together to promote a naturally clean, resilient coat and healthy skin without synthetic fragrances, sulfates, or anything extra your dog doesn't need.
We didn’t just rethink ingredients, we thought about the format too. We chose a solid bar for a few reasons. First, it's concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Second, it's easier to hold and apply, especially when you're washing a squirmy pup. And third, it helps us reduce waste, since there’s no plastic involved.
The result is a shampoo that lathers easily, rinses clean, and gives you more control during bath time.
You don’t need to wait for itchy skin or a dull coat to upgrade to a gentler, more thoughtful product. Just like we care for our own skin with daily routines, dogs benefit from ingredients that support health over time.
Even if your pup has no skin concerns, Chinese herbs can help maintain hydration, keep the coat soft and shiny, and promote that fresh, healthy glow we all love to see after bath time.
For the last 15 years, ZoLidays has been a space for sharing ideas about parenting and everyday care. As many of us have pets in our families, it only felt natural to start talking about them too. This is the first post on this blog about ZoLi Pets and we are excited to bring the same thoughtful, wellness-focused approach to caring for them too.
Thanks for being here at the beginning. We’re so excited to share this journey with you.
