Okay... hear me out. I know that losing an hour of sleep on your weekend that you worked so hard to get to doesn't sound ideal. But I think that the "spring forward" time change is the best time to get back on those goals! This absolutely outweighs temporary grogginess in my opinion đ
I know that I can't be the only one who made New Year's Resolutions this January that have been, let's just say, less than â¨perfectâ¨Â so far. With this extra hour of afternoon sunlight, I think it's the perfect push to get back on track.
Here are some of the resolutions we noticed this year that are ripe for a bit of extra sunshine!Â
Personally, I was hoping to jump on the "reading more" resolution this year but have found it hard to remember after work hours! I will have to take advantage of the time change and leave that book next to my alarm. For now, I have finished one book and it was a doozy...
Â
I'm just going to say it... some books are boring. I find it extremely hard to focus on books if they are considered "slow burn." I know that many readers love this type of reading and I completely appreciate that! But personally, I gravitate toward the thriller book genre which tends to keep you on your toes for a majority of the read.Â
The latest book I finished was The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. And I LOVEDđđźITđđźSOđđźMUCH. I dont want to give too much away, so I will just leave the description that Book of the Month gave to draw me in:
"QUICK TAKE: The twisty tale of a therapist with unconventional methods trying to unlock the mystery of a âperfectâ marriage."
I know... not much context. But believe me, it's great!
Â
Another one of my New Year's Resolutions was to be generally healthier. (More specifically to be able to do a pull-up because I am terrified of being pushed off a cliff and not being able to pull myself back up, but that's for another blog post...)
While I've been able to follow this for the most part, I've also been LOVING the food delivery services available to help out with my sweet tooth! This year for my birthday, Juli sent ice cream from Ample Hills Creamery... What a unique and DELICIOUS present!
To say I was excited would be an understatement, and when I opened the package and read the flavors, I clearly needed to be sedated. My favorite out of the 4 was called "Breakfast Trash." It is Capân Crunch, Frosted Flakes and Corn Pops-infused ice cream with Fruity Pebbles and Froot Loops... Basically all of my favorite things in frozen form.Â
I think this is probably obvious but I had one pint a night until they were gone and have no regrets. #balance đ§đ˝ââď¸
