There are a lot of reasons why Fall is one of my favorite seasons and according to Kathryn Lively, professor of sociology at Dartmouth College, there is a scientific reason for it.
In an interview with The Huffington Post, Lively explained that “We’re conditioned from a very early age that autumn comes with all these exciting things. As children, we come to associate fall with going back to school, new school supplies, seeing friends. It’s exciting, for most. We still respond to this pattern that we experienced for eighteen years.”
There you have it, our obsession with Fall is a social phenomenon that started when we were children and that we still indulge in to this day.
Here are some of the things I am looking forward this Fall:
Cooler weather means sweater weather. I'm thinking about adding this rainbow cardigan to my sweater collection.
Chilis, stews, and soups are all sounding pretty good to me right about now. I think I’m going to make this Moroccan Lamb Chili this weekend.
Anything apple - apple pie, caramel apple, apple cider and this apple crisp.
Fall Holidays - Halloween (official chocolate season in our household) and Thanksgiving.
Pumpkin - PSL, pumpkin bread, and pumpkin pie.
Walks, hikes and bike rides. Just getting outside to enjoy the crisp air. The American Hiking Society is a great place to find beautiful hikes near you!
