ZoLi DIY Easter Treats

April 04, 2017

Everyone has different traditions for Easter, but most involve chocolate at some point in the day! Whether it's hunting for eggs, a dessert after your family dinner, or even the decorations (chocolate bunnies, anyone??), it seems to be everywhere.

Why not get your kids in on the chocolate fun? (While also cutting back on a bit of the sugar of regular candies.)  We are going to show you how to make your own Easter treats- and don't worry, it's easy!

The first treat will be chocolate-covered dried fruit.

Mangoes sliced with SNIP™ Mango Treat done

1. Melt about 0.5 cup chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave, stirring often.
2. Cut up some dried fruit into strips.  You can use dried mango, figs, apples, whatever your little one's favorite is!
3. Dip and sit. Dip about 3/4 of the fruit strip into the chocolate and lay on a piece of wax paper.
4. Let set in the fridge until the chocolate hardens.

Next are corn flake stacks!

CornFlake Stacks

1. Melt 1 cup chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave, stirring often.
2. Mix in (gently!) 2 cups cornflakes or any cereal you would like.
3. Grab small hand-fulls of this mixture and set on wax paper.
4. Let set in the fridge until the chocolate hardens.

Our last recipe is alternative to chocolate for those who like a more fruity treat!

Fruit Treats

1. Pick up your favorite flavor or "fruit paste" from your local market. (Packaging will look something like this)
2. Make sure it's flat and cut out shapes with a cookie cutter.
3. Dip in sugar and get snacking!
